Catching Up

I’m finally catching up a little!

Thank you everyone for the wonderful birthday emails, messages, comments, posts, it means a lot to me!

Greg is the BEST husband ever! He bought me this and I love it! I ran with it on the treadmill for my 5K run on Friday, I think it needs calibration! We’re off to do that this morning. I just have to run once around the 1/4 mile track so it gets a feel for my pace and length of my stride. There’s no way in HELL that I’m running a 9 minute mile. That was a great gift and he bought me a cute fuchsia colored pouch to hold my Nano and headphones. That was something I talked to  him about after getting my purse from Jess. There’s not enough pockets for everything and then the headphones get everywhere. I do wrap them up, but, this is better still! He brought me 2 bunches of flowers and I did take photos. I’m waiting patiently for the UPS man to deliver our new video cards. My current monitor is a widescreen and as my computer is 6 years old, the video card makes every photo and graphic look WIDE. Not good when you want to crop photos! I’ve been dropping them on my laptop and editing them there. PITA! So, tomorrow is my final gift.

Jacqueline, Violet and I went to Arby’s for lunch on Thursday. I cut the regular RB sandwich in half and ate that and had one fry. I’m lucky that I can just do a taste of something. I used to just steal one chip from Greg’s plate! *LOL* I really didn’t like the Arby’s though. It’s changed a lot since we were there in June. It’s not as clean and even though it was lunchtime they weren’t really staffed for it. There wasn’t anyone at the register, just running back and forth from the drive-through and the register. We had to wait a while for our order to be taken. I totally understand lunchtime, but, if you have a busy drive-thru, have another person inside as well. There was a line of about 5 people at any given time inside, just waiting. Maybe they are under new management or something. Then, this guy hit on Jac! He said that he would give her his number if she wanted it! Oh wow…that was terribly funny. Obviously she’s in a relationship, although he didn’t know that as we’ve only been there with Vi, never with Storm as well! *LOL*

Jacqueline, Storm and Violet gave me a wonderful card that Jac made down in the craft room. She used chalk and put a faery on the front. I will scan it in and post it. And I also got some yummy goodies from Bath and Body Works via his mom, Emma. Warm Vanilla Sugar is SO yummy! Shower gel, lotion, sprays…I’m so spoiled!

Friday was a good day, Greg was home and we spent some time together both before and after my tattoo session. I actually have photos of them and of Keith as I took Jacqueline with me. They turned out great. I discussed with Keith exactly what I did and didn’t want and he drew everything on my back. During the discussion he was saying that he wanted to “finish” the rose that he did back in June. I wasn’t really sure what that meant, until he told me exactly what he was going to do. You can click here and see the photos from my latest tattoos.

Dinner on Friday night was most excellent! We went to Joe’s Crab Shack! Alisa I know through the military forum board we used to go to and everyone else I know through Greg’s work.

Blowing off the dust.

Been a while since I posted anything.

Kings Dominion was fun, tiring and hot, but fun. I think that Greg rode all the coasters except for one. We met Rudy from Survivor Season 1 and had our photo taken with him by a nice gal that was just chilling out. We knew he was going to be there as he’s an retired Navy Seal. There were about 3,000 Navy guys and gals there that day. You can check out the photos on our Flickr or on my Facebook. Our hotel was so gorgeous! I think it’s pretty newly built, it was in great shape and so clean. We used some points we had so it was free.

I’ve been watching Violet while Jacqueline is in class starting this week. We went shopping yesterday after dropping of Jac at the college. Poor Vi was so tired that she fell asleep in the Jeep, we weren’t even out of the Target parking lot! *LOL* Storm picks Jac up on Monday and Wednesday nights and drives them both to class on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. Violet missed her mom last night when I put her to bed, but, she didn’t fuss too much before falling asleep. She had a shot on Tuesday, just one, tolerated it better than we expected. She actually didn’t like getting measured at the doc at all. She’s toddling around, getting into everything, playing hard every day.

We all have colds here, good times!

I received my Mary Kay order the other day, love everything! My skin feels so soft and for the first time in about 20 years I wore some blush yesterday. I haven’t worn any in years as it would always make my skin break out, even Bare Essentuals and Almay, everything. Yay!!

I received my Jill.e bag last week and have everything in there now. I just mailed off my 2 Crumplers to someone that bought them off of Nikonians. Nice to have a bigger bag for everything, although I do plan on adding a medium one this weekend. I want to start upgrading my lenses and I will need more room if I do that. :camera:

Today consists of cleaning and watering my plants. Each month I make sure to clean and replace the water in my 3 bamboo plants. I’ve been busy this past week, so they have been neglected. I’m skipping the gym as I also have a cold and I think that the migraine yesterday was triggered by it starting up or something.

TTFN!

Happy Anniversary to us!

24 years ago I married my best friend. We’ve been through good times and bad. Through the military and civilian life. We’ve moved 14 times, had 9 cars, 4 washers and dryers (regardless of replacing the heating elements a million times, I still count it as 4), bought one house, had two children of the girlie DNA, watched our little grand-daughter from birth until present, been separated more than 10 years total due to the US Navy but proud to have served.

I love you more than I did when we said our vows that hot morning in Florida. I don’t know how that could be possible, but I do.

I’m always yours, Greg, forever.

You are the best thing that ever happened to me and I truly believe that God decided we needed each other and we met.

I love you!

We’re off to dinner at TGIF’s tonight, yummy!

Hey you! Yes, you!

We didn’t have a great turnout for the cookout, but that’s okay. The people that did show up had a good time. We have a TON of food leftover! It was fun though, we got to see some folks we haven’t seen in a few months.

I’ve been trying to keep busy around the house. We did get some more things hung up and put away before the cookout, so that’s good! There’s two boxes of random things in the living room. We still have NO furniture in that room except for a bookcase that we want to replace or move to the basement and Greg’s Lazy Boy.

Greg and I are heading to Newport News/Hampton VA (our old stomping grounds) from the 22nd-24th of July. He’s got a business trip down there, so we’re driving the night of the 22nd and spending that night and the night of the 23rd down there. We’ve got a few friends in the area still, so hopefully we can touch base with them for dinner or the day or something. I will be really bored if my friend Karen cannot spend the 23rd with me. Greg will be in meetings all day at the shipyard. It’s only a 3 hour drive, so doing that after work on the 22nd will mean less traffic! We’ll be home sometime mid-day on the 24th unless he’s got a meeting there that morning. *He’s off on the 25th, so we may tag something onto the end of that, but I have to be back here on the night of the 25th as I have a meeting the 26th with the wedding couple.* It’s going to be so weird to be there all day in our old town. We haven’t lived there in 4 years, so much has changed from what I’ve heard! Business trips like this are great, the gov’t pays for his meals (which the money usually enough for me to eat on as well), his gas and his hotel room. AND the best part is that we are alone. :cloud9:

We may be going to Pittsburgh the beginning of August, we’re not sure what the job is doing with that. I hope it’s not over the 9th, which is the wedding I’m shooting. I don’t think it will be as that’s a weekend.

Then we’re in Atlanta the 20th-24th of August seeing Jess, Greg’s sister and her family and my brother and his family!

We’re also thinking of going to Vegas for a couple of days in October. My best friend Lisa and her hubby will be out there for business. We could stay at the Luxor hotel pretty cheaply, hopefully and then we just have to pay for food and plane tickets. She will be all alone otherwise, since he’s going on a business trip and has meetings and such…we can’t let that happen, can we? Greg and I really had an okay time last time, (we were there with Jacqueline in 2006) but this time it will be just adults, so it should be better, right? Plus, we know what we want to do and see again AND we’re not driving, we’re flying!

Lots going on trip wise I guess!

My tattoo is pretty much healed up. I had a skin reaction to the red ink, so my back has been filled with hives all around the tattoo for the past 10 days. I used Cortaid on those and Eucerin on the tattoo. It’s still itchy here and there, I think I’m allergic to red ink. I did have a reaction a few years ago when I got my first tattoo, but I didn’t really think about it as it was my first and I didn’t know.

Anyhow…just wanted to pop in and say HI! TTFN!

Let’s Say Thanks

I meant to post this a few days ago.

If you go to the web site Let’s Say Thanks you can pick out a thank you card and the Xerox Corporation will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq.

You can’t pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services. It is FREE and it only takes a second. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these?
