Stuff
Catching up with everything around me. Did you vote? I did this morning, yay!
Work: Doing well, booked and did a session one day apart on Sat/Sun. Went and picked up stuff for auction photos on Thursday. Delivering auction photos, this Friday. Delivering family session this coming Sunday. Booked another family session with our Realtor on the 21st! Have to get with his wife for confirmation. I had to re shoot all the auction photos, I hope he likes them at delivery!
Work II: I just became an independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay! I have my training materials in the house, been looking at them when I can. Tomorrow is a phone call from my director. I joined under my SIL in Atlanta, so I’m out of state, but she gets me on her team.
If you would like some samples, let me know. I have a few to give out to people that have never tried MK or haven’t in a while. I really like how it makes my skin glow and it’s all soft and healthy. I posted about it back in September and in August. If you decide to purchase after trying the samples, let me know! I ship for free! Everything can be ordered online and there’s a secure server for payment. I have to get all that set up tomorrow, so look for a post with the URL in it!
I’ve just been busy working out at the gym and I’m THISCLOSE to being at my 1/2 way weight! I think I will hit it next week. I lost over 3 pounds last week, my weigh in was awesome! I’m wearing a size 6 jeans now and I just had to return some shirts that were too big. I’m in a petite small now vs. a misses small. There’s a HUGE difference with that! I ran and did the bike + abs today and I do the arc trainer + abs tomorrow. Thursday I will run again, then Friday I’m off to get the 5K under my belt for the week. I didn’t get to run it last week as I was at the doc, so it’s been a while. The doc gave me a three month holiday from taking the Zocor. I’ve been taking that for 10 years for my high cholesterol. This is the first check since joining Jenny Craig, so we’ll see. I go back in January. I really think that the weight is coming off easier because I stopped taking it.
Friday I’m off to Tyson’s to shop for a while, then delivering the DVD on the way back through to the auction guy. A WHOLE DAY OF SHOPPING! No kids, no grand-daughter, I’m terrible, oh well.
I can’t wait to spend a little bit of money on some nice stuff.
I went to a Pampered Chef party last weekend, was right next door to the family session, didn’t know it till I looked at the address. *LOL* Was a good party, met some more people. I’ve been invited to a Slipada jewelry party on the 16th! MORE people! And there’s a meetup group meeting on the 14th and the 22nd. I can’t wait for this, they are all over 35+ and women, which is exactly what I wanted. I have friends, Greg’s co-workers are married, those are my friends. I want my own friends, weird huh?
We changed our hotel for our Thanksgiving trip - November 26th through the 30th. We found one that can offer us separate rooms for just a little more than one room divided would be. After travelling for 3 weeks with everyone in one room and NO Violet, we don’t mind spending a little more for two rooms. It’s always worth it. It’s a long drive, 10 hours, so hopefully it will be okay. First long trip for Violet. I remember the girls being 6 months and going on long trips. She’s so antsy all the time, it’s like tying her down or something. Part of it she’ll sleep through, which is a blessing. Turkey at my brother’s house, then visiting with Jess on Friday. Also, we’ll have a porta-crib for Vi, so that’s one less thing we need to pack. Tina (my SIL) has one we can borrow while there she’s borrowing from a friend. I’m so excited to go already! We’re planning on going to the aquarium on Saturday. I think that my brother and his family along with my SIL and her girls + Jess are going to join us! Wow, what a group!
Time to go and watch election stuff. TTFN!
Halloween
I originally was going to put up a Halloween layout this week, but, time just got away from me, oh well. I did however keep the house clean and actually detailed my Jeep this afternoon.
For Halloween, we have candy via The Dollar Tree, love that store. I spent $10 vs. $40 and I don’t like anything we’re giving to the trick or treaters, so that’s a good thing! Greg’s been gone since early Monday morning, we’re staying around the house tomorrow night handing out candy. Once it’s gone, it’s gone though. We do have pumpkins out front, some autumn things too, but no decorating as he wasn’t here and frankly we’re not in the mood for some reason to decorate. I guess because we have no little ones of our own.
I was in The Dollar Tree looking for alphabet magnets, but they didn’t have any. Anyone have an idea where to get some cheap? I looked at Target, they don’t carry them. As much as I despise shopping at Wal-Mart, I may have to go there for Violet. She’s got the entire alphabet, except for a “g”. do you know how many words need the letter “g”? A lot more than you think actually. Besides, with another set she will have double letters to spell more words.
Things have been busy here all week. I met with a client yesterday and have some auction items to photograph and burn to a CD. I deliver everything back to him on the 7th. I got paid though, all in advance! Woot! Nothing planned for the money, yet. Saturday I have a client meeting in the morning. I’m going to take photos of the family, next weekend. Hopefully the weather holds out and we can do it outside, otherwise I will have to get creative. I love challenges! The family has two little boys, a 4 year old and a 3 month old.
Saturday afternoon holds a Pampered Chef party invite, I can’t wait! I just placed a big order with Jess for her party, it’s this weekend or next. I need to get a few things, so I plan on seeing what I need. Almost my entire kitchen is run with Pampered Chef. I use something each day it seems like. Been using it for about 12 or 13 years. Anyhow, the crop that I went to earlier this month is where I met the gal that’s having me over. Hopefully I will get to meet more people! I’m way too excited about this, eh? One downside to working for yourself, you don’t really have day-to-day interaction with people that you work with.
I was going to meet with a client on Sunday, but, after chatting with her on the phone and in emails, I actually turned the job down. She wanted more than just a photographer and even though I could probably have designed the cards for her, I didn’t like the vibe I got from her at all. Very demanding, very precise. I totally get it, really, but, since I really can pick and choose my clients, I did.
Sunday is nothing, just shooting the auction photos and watching DVRed shows. I may make some Monkey Bread. I just bought a fluted pan from Bed, Bath and Beyond yesterday. I also found some king sized sheets with a 300 count for under $20 a set! They were missing from the rest of the set which probably included a comforter, shams and dust ruffle.
Happy Halloween everyone! Make sure you keep your kids safe and examine the candy before they eat it!
Brain Dump
Scheduled an appt. for Greg to see the doc on Friday. Been nagging him for THREE days to see the doc, finally sunk in. He’s been having night sweats for a week, chills, headache. Headache and chills finally faded on Monday. I think the flu or pneumonia, maybe mono? He’s feeling better these days though, Nyquil at night and no headaches during the day, more energy. I’m probably worried about him, I woke up with an upset tummy today, nursing a Coke. No gym for me today, feels weird to have more time in the morning.
Need to put more photos up on SNP as soon as possible. I just put up the wedding photos from last month, last night. I have a lot of good ones from the past two races at MIR, need to make another gallery. Will try to do that this afternoon. I’ve been itching to get on PSP for three days with the new monitor and video card. I may even load up PS, oh wow, eh?
Burned 3 DVD’s yesterday. All music is now backed up, everything business wise too. Graphics, photos are usually done monthly, for some reason I needed to do it yesterday.
Was contacted by a client last night for senior portraits! She got my card from one of the gals at the crop on Saturday. If it pans through, need to buy her a gift for referring. Meeting another client (hopefully) on Saturday in Springfield. He has eBay things to put up, antique knives and pens! How cool is that? Alisa, want to meet for a bit? If you are around that day I mean. I’m thinking mid-afternoon. I need to go to Tyson’s as well to the Franklin Covey store and get some notepads and check register pads. Dawn, I know you are an hour away, but, if you can make it out, holler! Would love to finally meet you!
Finally have the Christmas card list in order. Want to exchange cards? Leave a comment and I will email you for your address.
I’m taking Violet to Target today while her mom is in class. I need to buy a new, smaller trash can for the laundry room. Simple yet will improve the space in there. The one we have is too big and gets in the way of things. Putting that one out in the garage where Greg can use it with the other one he’s got out there.
This afternoon I’m mailing out the auction that someone won yesterday. I have to put the Coach purse and wallet up on eBay this week, probably Friday if I get a chance.
I have yet to watch Desperate Housewives from Sunday, finish watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Ugly Betty from last week, CSI from last week, Prison Break from Monday. Just not enough time for everything I guess.
TTFN! Have a great one!
25 Years
Today, 25 years ago, I became a non-smoker. I started smoking when I was young, (10 years old) my friends taught me! I kept smoking until right before I turned 19. I didn’t want to be 19 and still be smoking. I was grown up at 19, or so I thought. Anyhow, I had been enrolled in a 6-week stop smoking class by my parents. I actually did the program unlike some of the others in the class. By the time I was ready, I was pretty much just sucking air out of a cigarette. So, I quit.
There have been a few times in the past 25 years that I have thought about buying a pack of cigarettes, usually under stress. I would have just smoked one, right? Haha, riiiiiiiiiiight.
It’s easier and cheaper to buy a pack of gum. I have chewed sugar-free gum as long as I can remember. Extra is what I chew now. Ever notice the way the new packaging looks like a pack of cigarettes. This cannot be a fluke. They know what they are doing. I usually have a piece of gum in my mouth at the gym, when I am watching TV and after I eat lunch and dinner.
If you go to my About Me page, you can see how many cigarettes I haven’t smoked and how much money I would have saved if I had actually saved it! *LOL* I started smoking when they were only 50¢ a pack, back in the day. Now it’s cheaper to fill up your car with one gallon than to buy a pack of cancer.
I’m actually very proud of this accomplishment. My body is too. I can now say that my lungs are at the capacity and health of a non-smoker. That actually happened at the 10 year anniversary. I cannot seriously see myself running on the treadmill at the gym and smoke. There are people that do, but doesn’t that defeat the purpose?!
I have to share that I’m really allergic to smoke now. I get an itchy throat, my nose gets all stuffy and runny and itchy, my eyes water and turn red and I COUGH. Coughing isn’t something I like to do. None of the above is.
I love being a non-smoker.

The Weekend
We’ve been having a pretty low key weekend, which is just what I needed! We picked Jess up at the airport on Friday night, she’s been sick, so her throat and ears were killing her on the flight. Saturday she felt a lot better, although she was coughing a lot during the night and was tired. Today she’s better, just in time to fly home. There’s a slight chance that she and Brian will be here next Sunday for a few hours.
We all sat down yesterday on the couch and used the remote for my camera. We have family portraits now for our Christmas cards. I will probably post them sometime this week on Flickr.
Storm came over last night and we all played “Cranium”. We had the game and thought we had played it before, but we must have used a friends game as this one wasn’t opened yet. We had a good time though.
I received this for my bday gift from Jess along with a matching wallet. I couldn’t find the wallet online to link it, sorry. I needed a new one though, she bought me a checkbook wallet. Yay! I bought a Buxton set a few months ago, like in April I guess and I’ve been using that ever since. I have all those free membership point cards that take up tons of room, although I edited out a few and it seems to work great in the new wallet. I also like having a pen loop.
Greg and I went to Home Depot and Lowe’s. We are installing dimmer switches in our bathroom (for over the tub), the basement bathroom (for over the jacuzzi) and in the eat-in-kitchen, over the table. I found a few things at Lowe’s for Christmas. Since we have a fireplace, we’re probably going to hang the stocking there, now we have hangers. I bought 2 boxes of 4, as our family is growing by leaps and bounds.
Jacqueline has decided to cut off Violet’s “baby mullet”. I totally agree, it’s time. It will happen sometime today, while Storm and Jess are here. Look for photos of that as well!
Jess, Jacqueline and I had a few hours yesterday that we spent scrapbooking! I have nearly 20 pages ready for CropTober Fest on Saturday. I’m so excited!
I had a gal call me for a photo session yesterday, yay! She received my card from my Creative Memories gal, the one that’s doing the CropTober Fest on Saturday. We chatted, she’s going to look at the website with her hubby and contact me for a definite time, the date is in early November. After the job is finished, I’m going to send my CM gal a thank you card and gift. I know she uses Mary Kay, so I thought that Satin Hands would be a nice gift, just a tube, but it’s to show appreciation and thank her for giving out my cards!
All in all a good weekend.
TTFN!
Monday
Hi all new readers from Twitter Mom’s! I’m glad you are here! Thanks for visiting and please comment, I love comments. I will be working down the links throughout the week. I hope to comment more often on blogs now that I have a schedule down with the family. Feel free to add me as a friend on Twitter Mom’s and join my group Tattooed Mom’s if you would like. If you aren’t on Twitter Mom’s, just click any of the links to get you there, then add me!
It’s definitely a Monday. I haven’t really had a bad day, just a long one.
I went and weighed in today, down 2.8 more pounds for a loss of 10 pounds in 10 weeks! Go me! In 10 days it’s my bday and maybe I will keep my goal of 12 pounds by then, but if not, no biggie. I ran a 12:19 mile on the treadmill this morning! A new pace for me, I’ve been at 4.7 for a while on the speed, cranked it up to 5.0 so I can get more and more speed and get this weight off of me! I started working on my abs as well, I’ve been putting that off for a while. I’m going to take my own personal yoga mat to the gym and put it in my locker. I cannot stand using a mat with a towel. I have no idea who or how many people have been on the gym mat before me and I’m a germophobe that way! EW! Anyhow, I plan on working on them each time I’m at the gym, so by Christmas I should see some sort of improvement. I’ve been working out each weekday for the past two months! I just realized that today. I only skipped last Friday because there were a lot of things going on and it was Greg’s day off.
The weekend was good, we went to the race on Saturday. Jen and Matt went with us and we even got a photo taken of us there. I took one of them as well, you can see that on my Facebook and our Flickr account. There was a really bad accident early on Saturday morning, during qualifying. The girl riding the bike in the tower lane near us, wiped out so badly that we were all stunned and just sat there. (We later found out that she was fine, moving, talking, no injuries, thank God for that!) I thought I had gotten photos of it happening, but, didn’t know that I hadn’t until Rich Christensen asked me to let him see. Since I didn’t and there was a camera…I asked if it was okay to have a photo taken with him. Hubby took it and did a pretty good job I think. We had a good day, I took a lot of photos and got some great bikes speeding along at over 150 MPH in some cases. Jen and I walked around and saw all the bikes, went to the top of the track where everyone was lined up waiting and took some photos of some bikes and some of the guys and their kids too. Greg and I each bought at least one shirt. I think that was a great way to spend the day. It was sunny and in the low 70’s, not very humid either.
Sunday we got some stuff done around the house, then went and delivered the DVD in our old town to the “wedding” couple. I don’t do weddings. ‘Nuff said. We also went and shopped for some baby things for people we know having babies. I just have to wrap them up and send them off this week. Theresa has gotten her gifties by now, how about you Cheryl? It was SO weird to see our old town, really weird. I haven’t been back there since we moved I don’t think.
Jess is going to be visiting this weekend, I’m so excited!! She flies in on Friday night, so I’m off to meet Greg at Pentagon City Mall for dinner, then we’re picking her up! She flies out on Sunday evening. I know it will go SO quickly. We’re taking our Christmas family photo on Saturday and probably doing lunch somewhere as well. She hasn’t been here since the end of May for Violet’s birthday! We saw her for a brunch in mid-June and Greg and I saw her in August. But, Jac and Vi haven’t since June. Hopefully she will remember Violet.
We finally hung the photos on the wall in Violet’s room. She loves them. I took a bunch of photos that one day a few weeks ago and had them all printed up in 5 x 7’s. She can see Jac and Storm as well as Jess and Greg and I any time she wants. We just change them out as the family photos are done. There’s a little gallery on each wall and we put one right next to her line of sight on her changing table. Target had a HUGE sale on frames for college students and I ended up getting like 30 or 40 of them for about .50 each. I have a bunch to hang in my office as well.
Gotta run and get some food, then, time for laundry and then hopefully watching Prison Break tonight. TTFN!
News and more news.
I just made reservations for our car for our next trip to Atlanta. We’re leaving here on the 26th of November for four days. I made the hotel reservations last month. Thanksgiving hopefully will be at my brother’s house with his family and then we’re going to see my sis-in-law and her family over the weekend. (We is including Jess who lives there. Jacqueline and Violet are flying down with us as well!) My mom was supposedly coming to join us, but, I don’t know what’s up with that. She keeps changing her mind about things. I haven’t talked to her in a while as she’s really aggravating to me right now. Hopefully we’ll be buying the plane tickets around my birthday next month. It will be good to see my niece and nephew. I saw Rachel in August, but I haven’t seen Steve in years, just on Facebook and My Space. We talk through texts sometimes. I also want to get some good family photos of Tina (Greg’s sister) and her family with ours.
We’ve never done that, so I thought it would be nifty-cool. We’re heading to the Aquarium on the Saturday after Thanksgiving with them, Violet will love that!
I went and got weighed and measured today at Jenny Craig! I’ve lost 9 pounds and 11 1/2″ in 9 weeks! I received a piece ribbon that was almost a foot long! So cool to actually see the inches like that. I’ve been running on the treadmill at least three times a week and I’m increasing both my speed and distance. I also work out on the bike some days after running and on the weight machines as well. I bought new shirts @ Target the other day in size SMALL, which is amazing since my boobs haven’t changed, just the way things fit. I also now own a pair of Levi’s 505’s. My first pair.
They have NEVER fit me correctly, in my entire life. I have tried them on here and there, but, finally they fit. I hope to have this pair for a while, just fitting looser by my birthday in a few weeks. The food isn’t as expensive as it was when I first started as I get a discount and I also bought a coupon for $65 to use for 6 weeks. I get a free breakfast, lunch and dinner each time I use that and then after next week, I get even a bigger discount each week as I will be past week 10.
I sold my D40 the other day to a gal that I know through scrapbooking. I didn’t use it on my last two jobs and I haven’t used the lens at all since getting the 50mm, so I sold that as well. She’s giving it to her daughter to use. She’s taking photography classes and probably will next year at college too.
Cute Violet update: She now says Nana and finally Pap-Paw. It’s so adorable. I took out my phone the other day and recorded her saying Nana. Then, Greg came home and we were all in the kitchen when he walked in the door. I asked Violet who that was and she finally said “Pap-Paw”. He grinned from ear-to-ear and just melted. I think she’s got him around her little finger! I taped her saying that the other day and I have to make it into a ringtone. She’s definitely heading into the terrible twos, showing her stuborness every day if she can. It’s more pronounced any time she’s tired, so we take that into account. She’s eating pretty much all table food, just oatmeal at night to keep her belly full. We found some soy yogurt at the grocery store, but I cannot find a way to make a cake for her. Wendy, any clues? She’s allergic to both eggs and milk!
Jacqueline is doing well at the college courses she’s taking and just had her first test in all the classes. She’s doing well with the separation, so is Violet. Greg usually takes her to the backyard to swing and slide on Monday and Wednesday nights. He gets her so tired though! *LOL* We went and shopped today for some things and we walk around the grass while waiting for “mommmmmmmm” to get out of class. She loves walking around!
Hopefully I will be scrapbooking next Saturday for a while at the all day crop and then again on the 18th of October for CroptoberFest! I have all the photos, just have to put them with paper and scrapbook them.
I donated some things to a local women’s shelter recently and I offered to volunteer when I can. I just received a call from the gal today, I hope to be in touch with her tomorrow sometime and get a schedule pounded out. I have a lot of free time on Friday’s, so maybe once a month for a few hours. It’s a shelter for infants/toddlers as well as providing medical care. We gave away all of Violet’s little baby clothes to them along with food, diapers and wipes.
Blowing off the dust.
Been a while since I posted anything.
Kings Dominion was fun, tiring and hot, but fun. I think that Greg rode all the coasters except for one. We met Rudy from Survivor Season 1 and had our photo taken with him by a nice gal that was just chilling out. We knew he was going to be there as he’s an retired Navy Seal. There were about 3,000 Navy guys and gals there that day. You can check out the photos on our Flickr or on my Facebook. Our hotel was so gorgeous! I think it’s pretty newly built, it was in great shape and so clean. We used some points we had so it was free.
I’ve been watching Violet while Jacqueline is in class starting this week. We went shopping yesterday after dropping of Jac at the college. Poor Vi was so tired that she fell asleep in the Jeep, we weren’t even out of the Target parking lot! *LOL* Storm picks Jac up on Monday and Wednesday nights and drives them both to class on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. Violet missed her mom last night when I put her to bed, but, she didn’t fuss too much before falling asleep. She had a shot on Tuesday, just one, tolerated it better than we expected. She actually didn’t like getting measured at the doc at all. She’s toddling around, getting into everything, playing hard every day.
We all have colds here, good times!
I received my Mary Kay order the other day, love everything! My skin feels so soft and for the first time in about 20 years I wore some blush yesterday. I haven’t worn any in years as it would always make my skin break out, even Bare Essentuals and Almay, everything. Yay!!
I received my Jill.e bag last week and have everything in there now. I just mailed off my 2 Crumplers to someone that bought them off of Nikonians. Nice to have a bigger bag for everything, although I do plan on adding a medium one this weekend. I want to start upgrading my lenses and I will need more room if I do that.
Today consists of cleaning and watering my plants. Each month I make sure to clean and replace the water in my 3 bamboo plants. I’ve been busy this past week, so they have been neglected.
I’m skipping the gym as I also have a cold and I think that the migraine yesterday was triggered by it starting up or something.
TTFN!
Getting back into the swing of things.
You know the old saying, “I need a vacation from my vacation”? That’s SO true! Just today everything is back to normal. It’s crazy! We unpacked suitcases downstairs and then unpacked them upstairs as well.
We had a great time in Atlanta! We saw Jess on Friday after bowling for a few hours, then spent the day with my sis-in-law and her family on Saturday. We never did get to the races, it rained, so we went for Mexican food instead. *LOL* We met with my brother and my niece for lunch at Subway on Friday and then met him and his wife for brunch on Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon we shopped with Jess and then finished our Phase 10 game and just hung out. I did upload some photos to Flickr, although there’s a few missing that I have a feeling are on my laptop’s h/d. I will have to get into that tomorrow.
I’m pretty much caught up on the laundry, just have to clean the bathrooms tomorrow and put the Scooba and Roomba out tomorrow on the floors.
I just ordered this yesterday. I’m SO excited about getting this, finally. I currently carry my D200 in a Crumpler 6 million dollar home and my D40 in a 4 million dollar home. I also carry my laptop in either a case or a backpack. Plus I have my tripod to carry and then light stands for the flashes if I’m inside, the background stands…tons of stuff. This will make it nice, only one thing for 2 cameras and all the accessories and my laptop. I’m going to order either this one or this one next month.
I went to a few specialty stores today to drop off some business cards and card holders. I also grabbed a few business cards from the bridal store, I plan on contacting these people and hopefully get some business networking going that way as well.
My sis-in-law, Tina, is a Mary Kay consultant, so if you are looking for one, let me know and I will hook you up. I haven’t tried any Mary Kay stuff in about 15 years when it made me break out in hives everywhere on my face. Very attractive. She gave me some samples while I was there on Saturday and I was very nervous using it as I have extremely sensitive skin, like hyper-sensitive. But nothing happened! My skin is acting really well to it actually. Yay! I haven’t worn blush since I was like 20 as any blush would make my cheeks break out. I’m getting ready to order some things from her, she ships for free, just charges the tax for her state which is 6% as they charge her. She just started in March of this year and is really doing well at it.
Greg and I are off on Saturday morning to Kings Dominion. Then we’re spending the night and coming back on Sunday afternoon. The trip is literally just costing us the price of the discounted tickets ($40 total) and gas and food money. The hotel is free as we reserved it with the Comfort Inn points we had accumulated two years ago with our cross-country trip! Nice!
Greg’s off of work on Monday and next Friday as well, so it’s a short week!
Jacqueline is starting college on Wednesday. Her schedule is really good actually, we worked it out so I can watch Violet for her! YAY!! She’s taking one online course and the rest are at the college. One she and Storm are attending together. Awwww! One is in the mornings and the other is at night on the same day. It worked out just perfectly, none are on Friday’s either. She’s so excited, we’re off to get her some new sneaks tomorrow.
Violet is growing by leaps and bounds. She’s walking and crawling everywhere and is now 15 months. She has her next doc appt. on Tuesday. She eats everything and tries everything, which is great. Only baby food now is the veggies so her mommy knows she’s getting it somehow and sometimes cereal at night. She’s sleeping all night from 8 p.m. or so until around 7:30. I don’t know any parent that can complain about a 12 hour nights sleep from a toddler! I hope it lasts!
I’ve been getting back to working out as well. I ran today and on Monday for a few minutes. I just have to get past the 10 minute mark on the treadmill and I’m golden. Funny how strong your mind is, eh?
TTFN!
Trip to Atlanta
We had a couple of hours to kill at the airport before our flight yesterday morning. We took out our PSP’s and played head-to-head “Buzz“. Too fun!
The flight was really good actually. There were two babies in the row next to us and they were SO GOOD! I didn’t even hear them cry once. One was a year old, slept most of the way, the other was 8 months and too cute. Both girls, maybe that’s why they were good, I don’t know. When we boarded the pilot asked me if I wanted a tour of the cockpit, I said “no thanks”…but wasn’t that nice?
After getting our luggage and making our way to the hotel, it was nearly 3:30 and even though I brought something to eat on the plane, Greg hadn’t eaten anything all day. He skipped breakfast and drank some coffee before we left. We went to Subway so he could eat and the Kroger for a few things.
Jess came to our room last night, it’s so good to see her again! She had a dinner meeting with some vendors who are in town for a few days.
Today we went to Centennial Park and The World of Coca-Cola. I found some scrapbook paper, stickers and a new mouse pad for my desktop there. We also bought a pack of playing cards for Jacqueline (yes, she’s still collecting them), some postcards and a cute little toy for Violet. We’re saving the aquarium for November so Jacqueline and Violet can go with us! I really wanted to go today though, they have some of the artifacts and a replica of the Titanic there. We ate lunch at the Hard Rock. Jess is making us some dinner at her new apartment. I can’t wait to see it!
Tomorrow she’s off at noon from work, then we’re going to try to meet my brother and my niece for lunch in Alpharetta. Then we’re going to bowl as she needs to make up 3 games from last night. She has 21 games, so, we’re going to bowl a few with her tomorrow afternoon.
Saturday we’re spending the day with Greg’s sister, Tina and her family. It’s been 5 years since we’ve seen them, so we have a lot to catch up on! We’re going to the dirt track that night and sit in the pits. Her hubby, Dave knows the guys that run the cars on the track, so we’ll be nice and dirty. Good thing she gave us a heads up about that, I packed old sweat pants and a t-shirt that we painted in.
Sunday we’re meeting my brother and his wife for brunch, then spending some time with them.
Our flight doesn’t leave until dinnertime, so we’ll have a good visit.
I’ve taken TONS of photos so far, I’m going to upload them to Flickr, but I’m not going to have a chance to tag or describe anything until we get back home.
Peace!
