Meals on my own
I weighed in today, lost that stubborn pound! I’m at 126 right now as I’m sitting here after a full meal. So, you know that tomorrow I will have lost at least one more pound! The gym workouts this week are on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Since I’m now officially past the 1/2 way mark for my weight loss, I get to have some meals on my own. Initially this is scary. Then you realize that everything has some sort of calories, so you rationalize what you are eating. So, to combat the putting on more weight thing with rationalization, I checked out the Jenny Craig site this afternoon and made some great Chicken Marinara for Greg and I to have for dinner. Tomorrow night I’m going to do something with ground beef. Here’s the recipe if you want it:
Ingredients
4 (4oz) chicken breasts, skinned and boneless
1 tsp garlic powder
nonstick vegetable spray
1 tsp olive oil
1 (28oz) can crushed tomatoes with puree
1 tsp dried basil leaves, crushed
1 tsp dried parsley flakes
1/4 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
Directions
Pound each chicken breast between plastic wrap or waxed paper with flat side of mallet to 1/4-inch thickness.
Sprinkle chicken with 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder.
Coat a 10-inch skillet with nonstick vegetable spray. Heat olive oil over medium heat.
When hot, add chicken and cook for 5 minutes until light brown.
Add tomatoes, remaining 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, basil, parsley, and pepper.
Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Makes 4 servings. Per Serving: 2 Vegetable, 3 Meat, 1 Fat, 1 Free.

So, the sodium kind of scared me a little, it’s up there eh? Good thing I used bottled marinara sauce vs. the tomatoes and I did use all the other stuff. I didn’t PAM the pan, why woud I if I’m using EVOO? Weird. Anyhow, Greg loved it and so did I, so, it’s going into the recipe box! I used the marinara sauce that’s only 60 calories per serving.
Weekend stuff
We’ve got the tree and all the decorations put away. We took most things down here and there over the last few days and everything today off of the tree. Then we boxed it all up and put it in the attic.
The living room is so bare with nothing in it! I cannot wait to get some furniture in there. We hope to have a couch and some end tables and a coffee table by late April. We’re thinking about a sleeper sofa, which would come in handy when company visits. Cindy and her crew may be here over Memorial Day weekend!
I’ve finally made the archive files for the family photos from Thanksgiving. I threw in Christmas on Jess’s archive. Now I’m uploading my SIL files to the website so she can grab them at her convenience. I’m currently making a DVD of our Christmas photos. I’m SUCH a dork! I was wondering where they were! I had them on the CF card in the camera! *ROFL* Never had a chance to take them out as Jess was sick and then I had that bad cold and then reformatting my desktop. So, now they are getting backed up on DVD and then I have to put some of those in Jess’s archive.
I got a little surprise this week from my ex-SIL. Greg’s brother was married to her for about 10 years. I never really liked her or got along with her to be honest. She’s on her 6th or 7th marriage and actually had her tubes UN-TIED to have another baby. Crazy to me…as she’s my age or just around there. Anyhow, she messaged me on My Space to add her as a friend! *LOL* How bizarre.
I ran 5K on the treadmill this morning, been a while since I’ve done the 5K. I can feel the pain in my thighs! But, I did it and I plan on running that weekly. It was a little busier today at the gym, I’m sure it has to do with NY resolutions, eh? All 8 treadmills were being used when I was running, which is really busy in my opinion. The ellipticals were being used too, as well as the bikes. There’s 6 or 8 ellipticals and about the same number of bikes. I wonder how many people will be there this time next month? I cannot believe it’s been nearly a year since I started going to the gym at least 4 times a week. It’s been 5 months since I starting running and you can see my last 5 runs here: My Runs I upload them to the Nike server through my Nike+ thing on my iPod. Pretty cool eh? Anyhow, that’s not up to date as I haven’t added the one from yesterday on there yet, but it’s pretty close. I’ve run 30 miles since my birthday in October! Wow!
This next week will be pretty busy for me. I have to get a necklace I’m making completed so I can start on the layouts I want to do at the crop on Saturday! There’s a crop from 3-11 p.m. I missed the one in December. I also want to sew the backdrop material I bought back in November. I have it all cut, but I have to pin it and get it sewn. It’s really pretty tan fleecey stuff. Thought it would be nice to offer something other than black or white when inside. I also have to figure out when I can drive up to DC and get my Nikon cleaned. And I have to drop by the tattoo shop with my portfolio and cards.
Melissa was nice enough to post about our Mary Kay transactions! I have been selling it since Halloween here and there in town, but she’s my first mail order person! If you want to look at the site, here’s the link to my personal page on the Mary Kay site. I was really happy to be able to help Melissa out without her being local. I sent her some little samples and some tubes of foundation along with my color matcher tool. I thought she would be the 204 color and I was right. It looks great on her and she loves it so much she’s ordering concealer too! Thank you again for your orders!
I usually place an order weekly if I don’t have something in stock, so if you are running low on something, give me a shout through the website, okay?
I will try to post again this week, hopefully tomorrow with more weight loss stuff!
2009
Since 2008 was a year of change, I think that 2009 will be a year of growth. We shall see.
There will be a lot of changes in the physical part of our house in 2009. We want to put recessed lighting up in the kitchen, change the ceiling fan in our bedroom and in the family room. Carpet the basement, put flooring down in the dining room, our bathroom and kitchen. Get rid of the back splash tile in the kitchen and laundry room. I would love to have some furniture in the living room sometime in 2009! New shower in the master bathroom. A new vanity with sinks in there too. Take the mirror down over the fireplace, take the mirror down in our bathroom and put up two medicine cabinets. Whew. Don’t think that all will happen, but at least a few things may.
I’m looking forward to the photography business growing in 2009. I would like to work more than twice a month, but, I will take what I can get.
Trips include one to Ohio in March and one to Vegas in May. Other than that, not really going anywhere. I think we’re thinking of going to a theme park in the spring/summer. I would love to go to Busch Gardens at least once in 2009! Atlanta will be on the list once we know Jess will be there for a while. She would leave in June if they decide to go through with the consolidation. In which case, I’m sure she will be in Richmond again, so we’re leaving that alone for right now.
I will have 8 years under my belt, in February, as a blogger. That’s a long time to blog my life for everyone to see. I would like to import some entries in 2009. That’s one of the things I’ve been meaning to do. I do have them all on CD’s, back when I was on Blogger, then with Movable Type and Grey Matter. It’s easier to import the WP ones though, so I will probably do those first.
I will try on my wedding dress sometime in early May. After 25 years, I hope to get it at least on my body, even though I’m pretty sure it will not zip! I will be losing at least a pound a week, so I should easily be at my goal weight by then. The last time I tried it on was 15 years ago, when I wanted to wear it for our vow renewal at our 10 year anniversary. Didn’t work out, but, it may this time. We’ll celebrate our 25th anniversary of marriage in July, which is why we’re going to Vegas in mid-May. Too hot in July!
Tomorrow, the first of January, marks our 25th anniversary of our first official date! We went to Kennedy Space Center and had a great time. I still remember it like it was yesterday. We have some photos I will have to put online one of these days. We were in the astronaut suits for photos.
We looked around for free, back in the day, it was a free place! We took the girls there a long time ago and saw everything again. It was when we lived down in Georgia, so in the mid-90’s. It’s not really changed that much though!
Tonight Greg and I will be staying in as I’m still sick with a head cold. Subway subs and probably a few movies to usher in the New Year. Jacqueline may be going to a party with her ex-Storm, we’ll see.
I hope to be well enough to head back to the gym by Friday or Saturday. Need to get moving on losing these last 10 pounds before May 1st!
Happy New Year everyone! I wish you plenty of luck, happiness, love and laughter in 2009 and beyond!
End of 2008
I cannot believe that it’s the end of the year already. I swear this year FLEW by! We just moved in right?
I have a cold. Sudafed seems to be working okay though, I can handle it.
Jess is much better, she left here on Saturday for Richmond. Brian drove her down to ATL on Sunday and she was back at work today. He’s staying the week down there and spending New Year’s with her, then flying home over the weekend.
I went and worked out yesterday at the new gym. It was not busy, even though the people that go there seem to think it is busy. I guess it’s all perspective. One day we’ll have a home gym, but, for now I like that I don’t have to do maintenance or upkeep. I did the elliptical, which is a really good workout! It’s been about 2 years since I’ve been on one. I also rode the bike and then did tons of ab work. There was a pickup game of hockey in the roller blade rink, so there were boys to watch. Greg wants to try ice skating there one day in the ice rink. I’m SO uncoordinated that I’m terrified of that. I do know how to roller blade and skate, but, never tried the ice skating thing. It was kind of hard to do in Florida growing up. *LOL* On tap for the rest of the week, working out on the bike and anything but running. Hard to breathe while running with a cold! I am steady at the weight I’ve been at for two weeks, today I was up a pound, so working out daily is the way to go for me.
Jess took this awesome photo of Greg and I on Christmas Day! You can see it on my Facebook and our Flickr account as well. I’m going to get some scrapping done next month and that’s one of the ones to print!
I plan on getting the rest of the Christmas stuff down around the house tomorrow. I’ve been putting it all in the living room. Greg will take the stuff down from the attic this week sometime so I can pack it all up and then put it back up there until next November.
I did get to Target today to get some stuff on clearance for next Christmas! The cards are bought, yay! And I also scored some gift tags and some other things for the house. The cookie exchange was a hit this year, so I have plates and napkins bought for next year already. I also bought a few baskets and other container-y things for Violet’s toys. I swear they multipled while we were sleeping on Christmas night.
Greg and I went to the mall yesterday. I returned the three pairs of jeans that I gave him for Christmas and he actually found three there that he liked so much he bought! I found two shirts, but, no jeans. I will have to keep looking for the right kind. I really like my Levi’s, but I want to see what else is out there. Gloria Vanderbilt’s, Lee’s and Liz Claibornes fit weird. I swear, I know I’m looking in the wrong stores. I tried Penny’s yesterday, the Levi’s came from Macy’s. Where do you buy your jeans and what kind are they? Are they comfy?
Celebrating 2009 with my honey with a nice dinner out probably. Depending on how we feel.
Oh! When I was at JC this afternoon, I actually talked to a potential photography client. We’ll see what happens. She’s pregnant and due in mid-February. I gave her a card and talked to her for a bit about how I work, etc. Keep your fingers crossed!
I’m backing up my hard drive ready for a reformat this week sometime. It’s been about 2 years since I reformatted Sophie. I know she’s due as she’s gotten a little sluggish. There’s traces of old programs on here that I want to get rid of and I cannot wait to do this.
If I don’t post before NYE, Happy New Year to you and your family! Drive safely and I will see you in 2009!!
Almost Christmas!
It’s almost Christmas, did you know this? I have just mailed out all the cards today. We were down and out for a couple of days with some sort of stomach bug, so I’m running a little late with them. Look for your card! I put a photo card and a letter in there, hopefully everything makes it okay to everyone. I have NONE of the gifts wrapped! ACK! I have a goal to wrap them up by Sunday night. Jess will be arriving sometime late on Monday from Richmond. All the gifts are in the guest room, so I do have a time factor here. Greg usually pitches in and helps. I just have to start with his and then he can help with the other ones. Jess is driving up from Atlanta tomorrow, spending a few days with Brian, then heading here for a week! I can’t wait! Christmas is my favorite time of the year.
The only good thing to come out of the sickness is that I dropped 3 pounds. I would much rather have lost it a different way, but, since I did lose it and that’s all over and done with, I’m happy. I’m now at 125, which puts me within 10 pounds of my goal weight! Holy cow! Hopefully I will get to go to the gym next week, at least a few of the mornings. I haven’t really been posting about my weight loss and JC as of late. I was stuck at a plateau for weeks. I maintained over Thanksgiving and have lost about a pound a week since then. I’ve been trying to work on my abs as there’s a lot of flab right there, but, not as much as when I’m not PMSing, it’s actually not too bad. Hopefully I will start off the New Year in a pants size smaller than I’m in right now. I’m currently wearing a 6 in Levi’s and I did try on a bunch of dress pants a few days ago, all 6’s. Some were tighter than others, which is totally hormonal and how they are cut. One day, hopefully, I can just buy something without trying it on. That would save so much time and since I hate shopping, maybe I will finally like it again. I used to, a long time ago when I was in a smaller size. I’ve given away 6 bags of clothes over the past few months. Everything I owned was too big! In fact the shorts I tried on in Sept. are now so big! I just did a house cleaning, all shorts, tanks and t-shirts are gone if they were too big. I have no need for things that I cannot wear. I need to get some new things, I have some long sleeved and short sleeved shirts, but, they are smalls and some are a little bigger since they aren’t all petite. Weird to think that I wear that size. Nothing has really clicked with me in that sense yet. I think it’s because it’s such a gradual change and even though others see me a certain way, I still see myself at 144 lbs. So weird! It’s definitely a mind set.
I delivered some photo prints to Tammy and her family on Wednesday and I have to say that I really think they turned out well. I’m going to order some clear bags to put the photos in for future deliveries. They aren’t really that expensive and I think that they will be nice to have. Even though I don’t get a lot of print orders, this was my first in fact, hopefully more are in the future! She’s also going to book a photo session for her uprising senior! So exciting!
I’m missing my Pay Pal debit card. I cannot find it anywhere. I’m not super concerned as there’s nothing in the account, it’s just annoying. I will have to order a new one, what a PITA! I’ve looked everywhere for it and it’s hiding, laughing at me. AND I know I will find it the exact second I order a replacement.
I have a few things to do in the craft room over the holidays and next month. I have to clean off the table for one thing, it’s a MESS! I have not even unpacked my crop bag from November. I hope to finish the few pages that I need to title and then start filling the new Creative Memories books that I ordered. Since Jess will be here it will be easy to get into the crafty mode. I have a Father Christmas to paint as well as the scrapbook stuff.
I’ve been reading blogs and trying to comment when I can. Usually I read and only comment if I have something to contribute. Don’t think I’m not reading, because I am.
Have a great weekend everyone!
December
Hi! It’s December!
Our Thanksgiving trip was good, although it was a long drive both ways. It took 14 hours down and back, which is about 2-3 hours longer than it should have been each way. We hit a lot of traffic and it slowed us down so much that we were all tired of the car by the time we arrived. In fact, we’re never driving over a holiday again. It was just too long in the car.
Violet however did great on the trip. She’s a real trooper and really played more than slept, in a good mood the entire time in the car. Now when she is in the car just driving to the store and wants to get out of her car seat, no one will believe her! *LOL*
Besides the long drive, it was great to see everyone! We arrived late on Wednesday night and then saw Jess on Thursday morning. We all rode over to my brother’s house for food, laughs and a good visit. Jess and my brother along with my nephew went bowling after dinner. Friday found us back at Dave’s house for a while, then we went to a park so Violet could have some fun. Look for Flickr photos! We went to Tina’s ( my SIL ) for a while and some food. Saturday we all went to the aquarium. My brother and Greg’s sister haven’t seen each other since our wedding, even though they live less than an hour away from each other. They really don’t have anything in common except for Greg and I. Anyhow, the aquarium was interesting. I was a little disappointed in not seeing everything that we thought we were going to see. The dolphins are going to be put in 2010 and they took out the penguins and seals until the dolphins come in. The 4-D movie was pretty good, Violet liked it too! Sat through the entire thing, mesmerized. I just thought there would be more. I guess I’m always thinking about the other places I’ve been when I go somewhere and compare it. The prices for the food at lunch is something that’s incomparable though. I’ve never paid that much anywhere, even WDW or Busch Gardens. After the aquarium we went to Tina’s and were surprised that her hubby was back from hunting!
It was great to see him, he’s my age, I’m one day older than he is, so we get along pretty well. We had dinner and visited. Got some photos too!
We had a good time all in all. Despite the rain, traffic and lack of sleep, we still are glad we went.
Since I had a weigh in this morning, I was kind of apprehensive but, I didn’t gain or lose! I’m eating all Jenny food this week and as of tomorrow I’m back to working out 4 days a week as well. I lost the first 15 pounds this way, so that’s what I’m going back to. Running in my new Nike’s will help break them in.
Greg and I took Violet to Lowe’s this morning to buy some Christmas lights. He put them up this afternoon. they look really good. We bought the fat multi-colored ones for the house. They don’t do anything, just are on. I bought some green garland and some white blinking lights for the porch. I’m going to put those up tomorrow. Greg bought a remote for the lights, it’s pretty nifty that we can just click them on and off again easily. He did the upper and lower roof line and across the garage. I will take some photos tomorrow during the day as well as at night.
The cookie exchange is set for the 14th of December, looks like around 6-8 people. I have this site in my favorites and have for a while. Just in case you want to steal some of the ideas for your cookie exchange. I think I’ve used those guidelines for the past few years.
Have a good night!
Monday, Monday
Keeping busy around here!
This past weekend was nice, Greg was off on Friday as well. We did get a lot accomplished:
- Halloween/Fall things put away in attic.
- Oil changed in Impala.
- Saw new James Bond movie.
- Organized our DVD movies.
- Finished Christmas shopping for Jac and almost finished for Storm.
- Got a table and 2 chairs for Violet.
- Caught up on DVRed shows.
I went to a Creative Memories open house thing on Saturday and I had a good time chatting with Sami. I scrapped with her and some others last month. They are having a crop on Sat. from 3-11 and I’m going! There’s only 6 people that can go as it’s in her home this time. I did buy another coverset, this one is for Greg’s scrapbook.
Yesterday Jac and I went to a Slipada jewelry party. It was at Tammy’s house. She’s best friend with Sami. Jennifer is the jewelry and Pampered Chef gal. While I was getting directions from Tammy she told me that they would probably be using me in the very near future for a photo session! YAY! Breaking into this group would be great, just takes a few and then business will start rolling. Tammy and Sami’s kids are the same age, 15 and 17. Both girls are older, they will be uprising seniors next year. So, I will be busy this summer! Hopefully the referral incentives I have set up will bring in some of their friends as well. Anyhow, we had a good time at the party and I ordered two things, neither for me! I have a wish list though. Jen and I talking I’m going to have a Valentine’s open house for Mary Kay and have a Slipada party at the same time. My SIL did this and got a lot of jewelry free as well as some MK bookings!
I have booked 3 Mary Kay skin care classes for the first weekend in December. If you are local and wouldn’t mind me borrowing your face, let me know. I just need to get 15 faces done in 2 weeks and I get something called “Perfect Start”. No one in the unit I’m in has gotten it and there’s a lot of them, like 25 or so. I have 9 faces booked, including Jac! One of the gals at the gym used to use MK, but, her gal moved, so that’s very cool for me. Just going to do the class and then take reorders. I’m going to do a follow-up with her the next week for color. Storm’s mom is going to get some church gals together and I invited my friend Jen to a class with Jac. I need to borrow your face, Alisa, Ginger, Joanna.
I got weighed and measured at JC this morning. Didn’t gain, didn’t lose, but, I’ve lost a total of 16″. Wow, eh? It’s coming off, slowly but surely. I’m kicking it up a notch this week at the gym, varying my routine, not just running. I think I’m PMSing, so that’s probably why I didn’t gain or lose.
Violet has been sick since Thursday night. Not eating much, but still drinking and slept almost the entire day and night on Saturday. She’s a little better today, eating crackers and drinking milk and water along with juice. I think that Jac said she was going to call the doc today about her. Poor baby, she’s exhausted and so is her mommy. I’m a little worried, but not overly as she’s still got wet and dirty diapers, she’s not running a fever, no puking. Maybe it’s going around.
The movie on Saturday night was really good. Really, really good. I liked this one a lot more than the one before it with Daniel. He’s not the best looking guy, but, he’s alright body wise.
The trailers at the begining were good, even though it was a 20 minute time frame. We saw a few that we want to see when they come out, especially since Vin and Paul are back for “Fast and Furious” as well as my girl Michelle. The movie with Jim Carrey looks hilarious! It’s been a long time since Greg and I went to the movies, the last one we saw was The Dark Knight back in July! How did that happen?
Halfway
It used to be military cruise related when I would type something about halfway. But now, it’s about weight loss.
I’m now officially at my 1/2 way point!
I’ve lost 14″ and 15 pounds. I get measured again next week, they do it monthly, so we’ll see if the inches have changed. I do feel lighter and I have more energy!
I’m so excited about the fact that this Christmas is the one that I will see the difference. 2009 is the start of a new year for me 30 pounds lighter and a lot of inches smaller! My next chapter will be a new me body wise. I’ve already started on the spirit.
One thing I have noticed is that I can sit with my legs pulled up to my chest. I never could do that before.I also can get up easier from the floor if I’m down there with Violet playing. I can carry her up the stairs and I’m not winded. She weighs about 24 or 25 pounds now! We have about 15 stairs to get up to the top level.
I recently had to buy a new coat! I just went out on Saturday and bought one. My first nice coat, it’s a pea coat, black, size petite medium. I was going to get the small, but it was too tight and well I do wear sweaters, so I need a little room. BUT, the fact that I had to get one is what blows me away. I tried on the coat that I bought last October for the trip I took with Lisa to NYC. It looked like a clown coat, which is how all my clothes fit as well. I don’t see it as it’s so gradual, but, the proof is in the fact that I dropped from a size 12 pants to a 6 and even those are getting a little loose on me. I will have to buy new stuff when we are down in Atlanta!
Greg, Jess and Jac have been so supportive! Jac is actually kinda jealous sometimes with the food as it’s cooking, she wants it! Greg told me last week that there’s less of me to hug! *LOL* He’s so cute! Jess saw me around my bday, so when she sees me at Thanksgiving, it will be more of an impact on her than with Jac and Greg who see me daily.
It’s so weird to look in the mirror after putting on my clothes and seeing things that are smaller fitting. My mind is still trying to wrap around the inches and pounds that I’ve lost.
I’ve been eating the JC food 5 days a week, Jello and fruit as well as salads in between. Exercising on Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri. Running each day except for Wed, I’m doing the arc trainer that day. Usually the bike after running, and then abs. Takes about 1 hour or so, depending on what I’m doing that day. Totally is worth it to me!
Thank you to everyone for being so supportive with comments, I really appreciate it and I appreciate you!
Stuff
Catching up with everything around me. Did you vote? I did this morning, yay!
Work: Doing well, booked and did a session one day apart on Sat/Sun. Went and picked up stuff for auction photos on Thursday. Delivering auction photos, this Friday. Delivering family session this coming Sunday. Booked another family session with our Realtor on the 21st! Have to get with his wife for confirmation. I had to re shoot all the auction photos, I hope he likes them at delivery!
Work II: I just became an independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay! I have my training materials in the house, been looking at them when I can. Tomorrow is a phone call from my director. I joined under my SIL in Atlanta, so I’m out of state, but she gets me on her team.
If you would like some samples, let me know. I have a few to give out to people that have never tried MK or haven’t in a while. I really like how it makes my skin glow and it’s all soft and healthy. I posted about it back in September and in August. If you decide to purchase after trying the samples, let me know! I ship for free! Everything can be ordered online and there’s a secure server for payment. I have to get all that set up tomorrow, so look for a post with the URL in it!
I’ve just been busy working out at the gym and I’m THISCLOSE to being at my 1/2 way weight! I think I will hit it next week. I lost over 3 pounds last week, my weigh in was awesome! I’m wearing a size 6 jeans now and I just had to return some shirts that were too big. I’m in a petite small now vs. a misses small. There’s a HUGE difference with that! I ran and did the bike + abs today and I do the arc trainer + abs tomorrow. Thursday I will run again, then Friday I’m off to get the 5K under my belt for the week. I didn’t get to run it last week as I was at the doc, so it’s been a while. The doc gave me a three month holiday from taking the Zocor. I’ve been taking that for 10 years for my high cholesterol. This is the first check since joining Jenny Craig, so we’ll see. I go back in January. I really think that the weight is coming off easier because I stopped taking it.
Friday I’m off to Tyson’s to shop for a while, then delivering the DVD on the way back through to the auction guy. A WHOLE DAY OF SHOPPING! No kids, no grand-daughter, I’m terrible, oh well.
I can’t wait to spend a little bit of money on some nice stuff.
I went to a Pampered Chef party last weekend, was right next door to the family session, didn’t know it till I looked at the address. *LOL* Was a good party, met some more people. I’ve been invited to a Slipada jewelry party on the 16th! MORE people! And there’s a meetup group meeting on the 14th and the 22nd. I can’t wait for this, they are all over 35+ and women, which is exactly what I wanted. I have friends, Greg’s co-workers are married, those are my friends. I want my own friends, weird huh?
We changed our hotel for our Thanksgiving trip - November 26th through the 30th. We found one that can offer us separate rooms for just a little more than one room divided would be. After travelling for 3 weeks with everyone in one room and NO Violet, we don’t mind spending a little more for two rooms. It’s always worth it. It’s a long drive, 10 hours, so hopefully it will be okay. First long trip for Violet. I remember the girls being 6 months and going on long trips. She’s so antsy all the time, it’s like tying her down or something. Part of it she’ll sleep through, which is a blessing. Turkey at my brother’s house, then visiting with Jess on Friday. Also, we’ll have a porta-crib for Vi, so that’s one less thing we need to pack. Tina (my SIL) has one we can borrow while there she’s borrowing from a friend. I’m so excited to go already! We’re planning on going to the aquarium on Saturday. I think that my brother and his family along with my SIL and her girls + Jess are going to join us! Wow, what a group!
Time to go and watch election stuff. TTFN!
It’s a new week!
Yes, I know it’s Tuesday. I never have a minute to sit here and type an entry on a Monday.
I weighed in yesterday and was measured as well! I’ve lost 12.2 pounds since the end of July and I’ve lost a total of 14″. Wow, right? I’ve lost 4″ on my hips! No wonder all my pants are loose! *LOL*
I went and calibrated my Nike+ thing yesterday at the high school track with some football players hanging out. Good times. I hope they were cheering me on in their heads! I can officially say that I run a 9:20 mile. Wow! Who would have thought that my body would like running? I did it for one semester in my Freshman or Sophomore year in high school. I did like it, that’s the only part of gym I did like.
I now have a new video card in my computer tower, yay! We ended up buying two of these. Greg put one in my tower and one in his. It makes SUCH a difference! I now see everything at 1440 x 900 as I have the new widescreen monitor I bought last week. My old video card was never upgraded, time passes too quickly, we bought my computer in 1999. Been a while! I’ve upgraded the DVD burner since then though, I have two plus an external that does Lightscribe for the business. Anyhow, today is backup day. Everything on my computer h/d will be on a DVD. I’m planning on doing the external h/d as well.
Today I’m working out, then later this morning Jacqueline, Vi and I are heading to Staples. She needs a new calendar for her paper planner and I need to look for brochure paper and folders for clients.
Have a good one!
