Running Girl
I guess I’m officially a runner now. I just ran the 5K loop on the treadmill at the gym this morning. I finished in 44 minutes. It’s not great, but it’s not bad considering I just started to run about a month ago. I’m very proud of myself. I think I will keep running a mile on Mondays, time doesn’t let me run that loop on that day, but once a week I’m going to run the 5K loop.
Greg’s been so supportive, he’s talking about entering into a 5K with me in the Spring. Oh wow. I know that I can finish it. I won’t be first that’s for sure and I know that I won’t be last. I’ve never done anything like that before, it’s a goal I guess. I’m going to try to get my time down a little, just so I know that I will be in the middle of the pack vs. the end!
I really liked running in high school, I was on the track team for one semester. I think I liked it, I can’t remember a lot about high school, those bad memories!*LOL*

Wow! I was thinking of you this morning when I was on the treadmill. I made it to the gym 3x this week and I went on a trail ride. I think its great that you ran the 5k loop

good luck on your 5k! that’s awesome that greg’s going to run it with you. i can’t run because of my arthritis, but joe’s going to do a mile walk in oct that’s being held in conjunction with a 5k, which he’s also going to run.

That is awesome! I am so not a runner. I’d be winded after five minutes, lol.

Awesome, congrats! I started running about 3 months ago and have recently effed up my knee. Watch out for yourself.

I say go for it. I’ve never enjoyed running so I admire people who can run and run well! Good Job! :)

Congrats on the running! When I started I think my “resting” pace was like 4.5 MPH, and now it’s around 5.2 … have you gotten fit for good shoes? I started having ankle problems a couple of months into running routinely and that made ALL THE DIFFERENCE. Keep up the good work! :)

Thanks Jess! I have a great pair of Nike running shoes. I need to switch them out at the gym. I’m running at 4.7 now. :)
