Keeping busy.

I’ve been keeping busy here. We leave in a week for Atlanta! I’m SO excited! I get to see Jess, Greg’s sister Tina and her family and my brother David and his family.

It’s going to be great to see Tina and the whole family, been 5 years since we’ve seen her and her oldest daughter and we’ve never met her youngest daughter. She was pregnant with her the year Jess graduated high school, 2003. I don’t think her hubby came up to see the high school graduation, I cannot remember, but I think it was just her and her daughter. So it’s been longer since we’ve seen him!

We haven’t seen my brother and his family in years. I have, when I went down to Florida a few years ago, but, Greg hasn’t, so that will be good.

We haven’t seen Jess since mid-June and that was just for breakfast when she was in Northern Virginia for a wedding. We get to see her new apt. and meet her roomie and finally see all the places that she’s been talking about visiting but has been holding off until we get down there.

I have no idea what to pack. I haven’t even had a chance to think about it until today and we leave next Wednesday through Sunday night. I have to get a bathing suit this week and I plan on packing workout clothes as there’s a gym in our hotel. I don’t know what’s in it, but, I’m prepared to do whatever they have there!

The wedding went really well on Saturday and I just finished editing and burning the DVD. I just have to lightscribe the other side, package it and then it’s ready for delivery on Friday. Yay! Another one in the file drawer. I hope to get some photos on Flickr and on the business site this week, but, I don’t know if that will happen.

I just talked to the wedding couple for September, I’m just going to do photograph the wedding and the entrance of the couple and bridal party at the reception. I guess they didn’t want to pay the extra fee for the reception. Which is fine by me, weddings are exhausting to do and I’ve just done a vow renewal.

I talked to the gal that does my hair and I exchanged emails and numbers with her. I brought in a print price sheet and we’re looking at the beginning of September, sometime in the early evening for photos of the soccer team. I’m a little nervous about that, but, I will be okay. She told me that I can get on the roster for photographers if I want to do more teams, gave me the info. for that as well, but I would rather wait and see how this one goes first. She gave me the URL for the gal that has been doing them, I’m going to look at her site and see what’s what. I have no idea how to pose the individuals, but I can do the group shot without a problem. I hope to have a helper named Jacqueline with me that night, but we’ll have to see what work and school bring us. Maybe one of the mom’s can help me corral the kids and get everything done paperwork wise, or the gal that’s the manager can help.

Oh yeah, I finally had a chance to hook up my archives and adding a few things to the sidebar.

I’m off to get some stuff done around the house, then finish the DVD and hopefully get some relaxing in today, but I don’t know if that will happen.
TTFN!

I hope you guys have so much fun in Atlanta! There should be plenty for you to do there.

Good luck with all of your photography endeavors! It all sounds so exciting. When you shoot the soccer pictures, make sure and have them do the foot on the soccer ball, hands on the hips pose…I think it’s required in all soccer photos :).

Thanks Chas! I like that pose a lot. I’ve seen some variations, not sure if I like them or not.
