Snow

Yup, it’s out there, tons and tons of snow. Hubby shoveled for almost three hours this morning to get a path from the driveway to the garage. The plows have been through our neighborhood, a backhoe as well. Just when we get it all handled, we’ll have more snow. They are predicting more on Tuesday night. Goodie.

It’s pushed back a lot of things, not having access to the store, clients, school, work. I think that he has to try to get to work tomorrow, good thing he’s got a big vehicle. I had to push my clients back to next Saturday, so I have one on Friday night and two on Saturday. Let’s just hope that all the snow will be over and gone soon. Bring on Spring!!

We painted the living room last month and ordered furniture. So excited!! Then. Then the call came that the couch wouldn’t be available until March 1st. What? I don’t think so. We got a refund for all of it. So, now, we’re at square one again. I’m hopefully shopping at a few places this week locally. I found some stuff online that we like, maybe in the area I can actually try them out. I don’t want some stiff furniture in our living room. We plan on being in there daily.

Hubby and I both started our Roth IRA’s this month! This is very cool to us as we’ve never had the income to have extra. Ever. Now we can build for the future and not have to worry.

Hey there! I heard about all the snow, yikes! I hope it goes away soon. It snowed here this year, first time since I’ve been in Florida. Crazy!

I’m sorry to hear about the hold up in your furniture, I bet it’s only because the perfect furniture is somewhere close waiting for you to find it. =)

I really would like all the snow to be gone when we fly into Newark on the 4th of March!!! :)

We started in 1994 with IRA. It was only $25 a month (because that was all we had left over) and the amount has slowly gotten higher. When the Navy came out with the TSP we started that also (I think we did 1% because that was all we could afford).

I am amazed at how much we have in our retirement accounts (IRA and TSP). It goes to show you that even just a little bit will grow over time.

Hey Sara, sorry, I hardly have time to read anyone’s blog nowadays, most of the bloggers I know I am friends on FB. In fact, I don’t even have time to blog! I think it’s great that you are still blogging.

Hi Sara! This is really nice, I have never blogged as of yet. If I can find time I will! What are the paint colors and furniture colors and themes for your room(s)? I am trying everything to rid myself of this cold, without going to the doctor for a zpack. I think will have to get one. See you on FB!

Thanks Christine. Hubby and I are heading out today to see what we can find. I remember when I was younger and living in Orlando, it snowed like 2″. It melted by noon, but, it snowed! *LOL*

Thanks Jen! I hope we don’t get anything tomorrow night, but, they are saying 3″-5″ now. I’m glad you found Christine again! She’s pretty cool!

Wow, that’s in a month!! Yay!!

Hubby has a TSP, we started it 2 years ago when he retired. It’s amazing how it grows so quickly!!

Karen, I understand. I will read you when I can.

Sophia, thank you for stopping by.

    Sounds good Vanni!

We have two different wall colors in our master bedroom, dark wood furniture. Dark green in the living room, tan-brown in the family room. We’re going to do a clay color in the dining room and something near that for the kitchen since they flow together. The family room is attached to the kitchen, so we need to make sure it flows there too. My office is pink! I have black furniture with white bookcases. love it!

    Hi Sara,
I thought I’d pop along here after your FB prompting and say Hi!

I do prefer blogs to FB. Though I probably have to say that! It’s good to see you stuck with WordPress. I remember when you were ‘Simply Sara’ back in the old B2 days!

Anyway, I have subscribed to your feed now. But I should point out that I overlooked your feed links in the menu bar — I guess because I automatically look for the orange feed logo. Also you don’t have it in your html header so browsers cannot automatically detect it.

You need to add a call to wp_head() just before your closing </head> tag to solve the latter. Or maybe you have a plugin turning them off.

    All the best
    Mike

Hey Mike! Yup, I remember those b2 days and the days leading up to it. I used MT and Grey Matter, before those, Blogger. Those were good blogging times!

I did add the rss feed this morning, it’s a blue feed in the menu bar, not orange, but it’s there now. Thanks for calling my attention to it and telling me what to do.

Glad you guys are weathering out the snow storms OK. We’ve been nice and toasty warm in our apartment, sitting next to the fireplace and thankful someone else gets to shovel the snow for us. Before you know it, it will be August and we’ll all be complaining about how hot and humid it is here. Gotta love DC Metro weather!

  16. Sara Says:

Thanks Christina! Have you moved to your new place yet? If so, how do you like it?

Hubby is shoveling! He did again this morning and will probably clear off the deck sometime this afternoon.
