Hubby and I recently celebrated our 25th anniversary (July 15th). He took the day off of work and we went out to dinner that night. The youngest made a great cake for us. I have photos, I need to get them off of the card and onto Flickr.
I received a Pandora necklace! I sent him in with the paper wish list that I printed and marked with the dates. My friend there helped him out and he bought a few that weren’t on the list. He also told me that I need to get a certain one when we went in there to return something and where to put it! He told me that he had the girl take out all the trays so he could see what he was getting. And he wants a list of what I have so he knows. How cute is that? I had no idea that he would be like that, he’s never bought me jewelry really, so this was kind of cool.
I bought him a power washer. I printed up a gift coupon for Lowe’s with a dollar amount on it, so he could pick out what he wanted. He bought a Troy Built one and after our military discount, it was way under the budget. He’s already used it a few times since he had Thursday off.
I simply cannot believe that we have been married that long. I think that watching kids grow up really makes that time fly by and before you know it, they are grown.
We are getting our living room painted the middle of August. I picked the two days that hubby is out of town on purpose. He can come home to it all finished. Then, in September we’ll start shopping for furniture! We decided to put up a ceiling fan with a dimmer slider light switch. We have one of those in our family room and love it. You can have the fan on separately if you want. And we’ll get end and side tables to put lamps on. It will be easier on hubby in the long run as there’s no electricity box in the ceiling at all.
We aren’t going anywhere next month. Unfortunately his travel dates are too close to the dates we were going to Williamsburg. Oh well, we’ll go somewhere over Thanksgiving maybe.
I’ve been keeping busy with photo stuff. I’ve been editing the party that I did for the little one year old this past week. I cannot believe that my girls were ever that small! He really loved the cake and I have a few really great photos from the party. The gal that owns the painter business in BNI (who is the one that is painting our living room) wants to get photos of her grandsons for her daughter’s birthday gift.
The oldest and I went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince today. It was really good! Hubby watched the little girlie for the youngest and they had a good time I think. She cried a lot when her mommy left, she’s 2, so that’s pretty common. But, after we pulled out of the driveway she was better. They went to our Borders for a supposedly great Sponge Bob 10th birthday party celebration, but he said it was really disorganized. For him to say that means it really was! They made pizza and ate some, then watched part of Wall-e while waiting for us to return. I think she’s napping now, I don’t hear any little feet up above.
I finally got back to the gym this week. It felt good to run and work out with the circuit band machines. I’m really not busy in the mornings, so, after I eat breakfast each day, I’m at the gym. Going to do this the rest of July and all of August to see if it helps with my sleep and my weight. I’m pretty close to my goal weight, just 4 more pounds, but, I really don’t like all the jiggling stuff everywhere so I’m working on toning up too.
The youngest will be taking 4 classes for the Fall semester, she just got her money from a Pell Grant the other day. She’s taking one of them on Monday nights and splitting the other two on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Then one is online. She’s taking Geology, Criminal Justice and an IT class.
TTFN!
